Valdarno di Sopra Doc at L’Altra Toscana 2023

ALSO THIS YEAR, THE VALDARNO DI SOPRA CONSORTIUM WILL BE PRESENT AT THE PREVIEWS OF TUSCAN WINES, TO PRESENT THE NEW VINTAGES LABELLED WITH THE REGISTERED DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN ON FRIDAY 17 FEBRUARY.

In fact, for the second consecutive year, the 11 consortia representing the lesser-known Tuscan wine scene will participate to this event with a collective tasting on the day dedicated to L’Altra Toscana (the other Tuscany), in a new venue, at the Palazzo degli Affari in Piazza Adua in Florence.
A very important meeting – as usual – which allows the producers of the Consortium chaired by Luca Sanjust to present the new vintages of their DOC (Registered Designation of Origin) and IGT (Protected Geographic Indication) wines, at the same time as the great work of enhancing the territory and its particular and historical vocation, pursued for some time through targeted choices like the organic certification one. In fact, today, all the members are already certified as organic producers or in the process of being converted, as well as the mention of the vineyard and the related toponym on the label. Choices undertaken within a growth path oriented towards quality, which places attention for the compatible and respectful development of Valdarno di Sopra at the center of every consortium action and programming, a road which in recent years has allowed the Consortium to become of territorial reference for institutions, organizations and associations.

During the tasting, 35 labels by 12 producers will be presented, representing the designation of origin which, with the latest amendments requested to the product specification, provides for an area including not only Valdarno di Sopra of the province of Arezzo but also the part falling under the province of Florence, thus reconstituting the historical and geographical integrity of its wine-growing territory.

«L’altra Toscana – The Other Tuscany – is an increasingly interesting day to discover our and the other magical territories of an enchanted Tuscany that produces wines of great value. We are also convinced that the wines of the new vintages we are presenting best represent our territory and its potential» states Luca Sanjust, Chairperson of the Valdarno di Sopra Consortium.
